Candidate's Perspective:

It has been a real pleasure to represent you in Parliament for the last five years.

Together with the vision of the Dominica Labour Party, and your input, we have made significant social progress in health, education and home help for the elderly here in this constituency of La Plaine.

There has also been a remarkable investment in agriculture in La Plaine, Delices and Boetica to ensure that our communities are sustainable; a new water system

was provided for Delices and Boetica; the road network has been improved throughout the three villages and sporting and recreation facilities have been upgraded in each area.

As we look forward to the next five years, I assure you that new and exciting opportunities for your advancement and the growth of our communities are on the cards. I am in discussion with investors to attract eco-friendly, seafront tourism facilities in La Plaine and Boetica.

Both of these developments will provide opportunities for jobs in goods and services.

In Delices, we are working on developing an eco resort that will provide jobs in hospitality and a market for our farmers. These innovations will a go a long way toward making the economy of our constituency sustainable and winning the battle against poverty.

Just as we focused on education as a formidable weapon in that war on poverty, the new Parliamentary term will see the redevelopment of the old health centre in La Plaine and the school in Boetica into community resource centres where lifelong learning will take place. Both our adults and young school leavers will be able continue to improve their skills and make themselves more marketable.

Our sports people will continue to benefit from upgraded facilities at Fond Toma and Boetica playing fields and lighting of the Carib hard court.

I will ensure that mutually beneficial links are established and exploited between our farmers and tourism operators so that each group benefits. A new Dominica Labour Party Government will continue to invest in agriculture by providing production inputs and will be examining new technologies, farming methods and crops to better diversify this important industry.

We will also invest in transport to the region as a way of increasing our exports, earning foreign exchange and providing a larger market and sustainable source of income for our farmers.

My plans for our La Plaine constituency are solid and achievable. They are all aimed at improving the quality of your life. I am therefore asking for your vote so that I can continue to represent your interests and work for your betterment.

Plans for Constituency:

  • Carib Road drainage works
  • Redevelopment of Fond Toma Playing Field
  • Lighting of Carib Hard Court
  • Rehabilitation of La Roche /Victoria Horse Shoe Road
  • Rehabilitation of Good Belle Bye Feeder Road
