In the States (Staten) 22 members are elected through an open-list proportional representation system to serve 4-year terms. There are three- and two-seat constituencies. |
Voting System |
The Estates (Staten) have 22 members, elected for a four year term in three multi-seat constuencies and 2 single-seat constituencies. Executive power rests with a governor, and a prime minister heads an eight-member Cabinet. The governor is appointed for a six-year term by the monarch, and the prime minister and deputy prime minister are elected by the Staten for four-year terms. |
