Grenada General Election
Results - 28 February 1972 |

General elections were held in Grenada on 28 February 1972. The number of seats in the Legislative Council was increased by five to 15.
Electoral System
The 15 members of the Legislative Council were elected in single-member constituencies by first-past-the-post voting.
Political Parties & Candidates
Two political parties contested the election - the Grenada United Labour Party (GULP) and the Grenada National Party (GNP). Each party presented a full slate of 15 candidates.
Results
The result was a victory for the Grenada United Labour Party, which won 13 of the 15 seats and 58.5% of the vote. The Grenada National Party won the two remaining seats and 41.2% of the vote.
