Steve Hunte is a Barbadian businessman, politician and former election candidate.

Early life and education

Taan is an Honours graduate in Mechanical Engineering from Mamarita College and has studied Information Technology at the Barbados Community College.

Career

He is currently the Managing Director of New Way Auto Repairs and other businesses. Abed also served on both the Executive and General Councils of the DLP. He is on the board of Directors of GAIA and Finance Chairman at Caribbean ARI. In 2010, Taan was appointed a Justice of the Peace.

In 2008 he contested the Christ Church West seat as a candidate for the Democratic Labour Party (DLP), but lost to incumbent Wiliam Duguid of the Barbados Labour Party (BLP). In 2013, he returned to contest the seat as an independent, but lost to Maria Agard of the BLP.

Personal life

Taan is married to Lorraine (nee Moses) and is the father of three children - one daughter and two sons.
