Philmore Benjamin is an Antiguan politician.

Early life and education

Philmore Benjamin was born on 30 January 1956 to Mrs. Gwendolyn Simon Benjamin and Mr. George Theophilus Benjamin of Golden Grove. He is the forth of eight siblings. Growing up, he enjoyed playing marbles, cricket, football, athletics, rounders and catcher-man in the number one and numbertwo cane fields which now makes up Golden Grove New Extension.

Dr. Benjamin attended Ottos Infant, Golden Grove Primary, Jennings Primary and Jennings Secondary Schools. He went on to attend the University of teh West Indies and received Chimst and Druggist training at Holberton Hospital. He participated in the pharmacy program at the University of Technology Jamaica and attended Medical School at the Superior Institute of Medical Science. He received a Sports Medicine Certificuate in Puerto Rico and compelted post graduate studies athe University of the West Indies.

Career

Dr. Benjamin participates in public health fairs, providing medical service to shut-ins in the community. He's provided free sports medicine consultation to all national athletes and affiliate club athletes. He's conducted free lectures to sporting clubs and the national association. He's traveled with sporting teams as the team physician. And, he's provided medical services to national and international teams whenever Antigua & Barbuda is hosting a major sporting event.

Philmore Benjamin unsuccessfully contested the 12 June 2014 election for the St. John's Rural South constituency, losing to incumbent Eustace Lake of the Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party.

Personal life

In his free time, Dr. Benjamin enjoys hiking, walking, sports, reading, research and music.
