Deborah Charles is a politician and current Cabinet Minister in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
Early life and education
Deborah Charles was born in Mahout Village to Masford Williams and Hyacinth Alexander.She attended Lowman’s Road Anglican, Girls’ High School and St. Vincent Teachers’ College.
Professionally, Charles served as a teacher and principal for many years.
Charles unsuccessfully contested the West Kingtown seat in the December 2015 election, losing to Daniel Cummings of the New Democratic Party.
She was appointed a Senator and Parliamentary Secretary in the Ministry of Education, National Reconciliation and Ecclesiastical Affairs in the fourth Ralph Gonsalves Administration.
Charles is married to Dwight Philip Charles and has three children. She is a devout Seventh Day Adventist.
