Colin Derrick is an Antiguan politican and former senator and Cabinet Minister.
Early life and education
Colin V. A. Derrick received an international education and obtained both a Bachelor of Laws Degree (LLB) and a Barrister-at-Law from the prestigious Middle Temple Inn in the United Kingdom.
Career
He is a lawyer by profession. Colin Derrick is one of the founding members of the United Progressive Party. He was instrumental in bringing together a coalition of three political parties to form a united entity that would finally bring to an end decades long rule by an Antigua Labour Party that pillaged the treasury, turned our country into a global laughing stock and brought our country to our knees in the best of times for the global economy.
Derrick unsuccessfully contested St. John's City West seat in the 12 June 2014 election against Gaston Browne of th eAntigua and Barbuda Labour Party.
Personal life
Derrick is a member of the Antigua and Barbuda Cricket Association, The Antigua and Barbuda Bar Association, the Spring Gardens Moravian Church and the Harmonites International Steel Orchestra. He is married to Maureen, a native of Grenada, and is the father of two; Zahra and Kareem Derrick.
