Robert Charles Lightbourne
Former Member of the West Indies Federal Parliament
Robert Charles Lightbourne was a Jamaican politician and a former parliamentarian in the West Indies Federal Parliament.
Career
Lightbourne served as a Member of the House of Representatives of the West Indies Federation from 1958 to 1962.
He was a four-term representative (1959 - 1976) for St. Thomas Western for the Jamaica Labout Party (JLP). He served as Jamaica's Minister of Trade and Industry in the 1960s and early 1970s.
Legacy
The Robert Lightbourne High School in Trinityville, Jamaica is named in his honour.
