The Hon. Daniel Andrew Lugay
Opposition Member of Parliament, Commonwealth of Dominica
Daniel Andrew Lugay is a Dominican politician and an opposition parliamentarian.
Early life and education
Lugay was educated at the Dominica Grammar School.
Career
Lugay is a Rural Communications Specialist with the banana industry. He has 30 years working in the agricultural sector having worked with WINDBAN, DBMC, DBGA, DPPL, and as a former director of DEPEX.
He has been a member of Roseau City Council for over 20 years.
Lugay is a former junior and senior national football player; a former chairman Lindo Park Improvement Committee; and a former member and administrator of Heineken Sports Club.
Lugay is the current Member of Parliament for Roseau North for the United Workers' Party (UWP), having successfully contested the 2014 election. He previously served as an oppoistion senator from 2009 to 2014.
Personal life
Lugay is married; and the father of two children; and two grandchildren.
He is a member of the CUM Church Roseau.
