Dr. the Hon Irving Francis McIntyre

Irving Francis McIntyre is a Dominican politician and current Cabinet Minister.
Early life and education
Dr. Irving Francis McIntyre was educated at St. Mary's Academy; and later the Indira Gandhi Medical College (1996) in India. He was also trained by the Pan-American Health organisation (PAHO) in Mass Casualty Management.
Currently a Medical Doctor in private practice, McIntyre previously worked as a Senior Medical Officer at the Princess Margaret Hospital's Accident & Emergency Department from 1999 to 2010.
He is the Dominica Olympic Committee's representative at the Regional Anti-doping Organization (RADO); a Medical doctor for the Caribbean Amateur Boxing Association (CABA); Resident Doctor for the Dominica Cricket Association; and a Medical Doctor for the Dominica Football Association, Harlem Sports Club, and Dominica Cycling Association events. He was a National Basketball team player (1982-1985).
Dr. McIntyre has also been a sponsor of Upsetters Basketball team in Roseau Valley League; and a Supervisor of relief supplies to Roseau Valley post Hurricane Maria. He has operated free clinics at Morne Prosper, Roseau Health Center and Harlsbro Post Hurricane Maria.
McIntyre successfully contested the Roseau Valley seat for the Dominica Labour Party (DLP) in the 2019 General Election.
He was appointed Minister of Health, Wellness and New Health Investment in the Roosevelt Skerrit Administration on 17 December 2019.
