Career
Michel Oreste Lafontant served as president of Haiti from 4 May 1913 to 27 January 1914. He was a reformist and was toppled by forces loyal to landowner elites such as his successor Oreste Zamor.
Death
He died in exile in New York City on 28 October 1918, aged 59.
