Leader of the Opposition, Antigua and Barbuda
Jamale L. Pringle is an Antiguan politician and the current Leader of the Opposition.
Early life and education
A graduate of the Antigua State College's Teacher Training Department, Pringle is currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Business Management.
Career
Jamale Pringle's professional career began at the Irene B. Williams School's Industrial Arts Department. Owing to his excellence in imparting his subject, he was able to teach at several secondary schools, including All Saints Secondary, his alma mater, and was able to mould the minds of scores of young people, teaching them a life skill and enriching their lives.
He left teaching to advance his dream of entrepreneurship, and became a business partner in an established events-management company. He is also a well-known videographer and editor.
Pringle successfully contested the All Saints East & St. Luke seat for the United Progressive Party (UPP) in the 2018 General Election, narrowly defeating Colin James of the Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party (ABLP) by 10 votes in the UPP stronghold. He was the only successful UPP candidate in the election.
On 23 March 2018, he was appointed Leader of the Opposition.
