Hon. Cora Richardson-Hodge
Cora Richardson-Hodge is an Anguillian politician and Member of the House of Assembly of Anguilla.
Early life and education
Cora Richardson-Hodge was born in St. Thomas USVI to Anguillian Parents. She attended the Island Harbour Preschool and old east end school (now the Morris Vanterpool Primary School). Richardson-Hodge has a degree in Environmental Science from the Florida Institute of Technology (1995) and a Law Degree from the Stetson University College of Law (J.D., cum laude, 1999).
She received Legal Education Certificate from Council of Legal Education through Eugene Dupuch Law School in Nassau, Bahamas in 2001.. She is also an Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court trained mediator and is on the Roster of Mediators for the Anguilla Court.
Career
Cora Richardson-Hodge is an Attorney at law and founder of CR Hodge and Associates (2006). She was admidded to the Bar in Florida (1999); Anguilla and U.S. Virgin Islands (2001); and St. Christopher and Nevis (2002). She is a member of The Florida Bar; Anguilla and American Bar Associations.
Richardson-Hodge was a Foreign Associate Attorney at Webster Dyrud Mitchell from 1999 to 2000. Mrs. Richardson-Hodge worked at Keithley Lake & Associates as an Associate Attorney from 2001 to 2006. In July 2006, she was appointed by the Government of Anguilla to act as Liaison Officer between the Government and Flag Luxury Properties. In November 2006, she officially opened her Law Firm, C.R. Hodge & Associates which is located in the Haskins Building in the Valley. She serves as a Director of National Bank of Anguilla Limited.
Richardson-Hodge is the driving force behind the Hope Centre in Sandy Hill. She is proud to have assisted in the formation and development of programs that provide community support and outreach. She is the Founder of HOPE Centre LTD. a community centre and non-profit organization devoted to improving the lives of Anguillians young and old. She is also the co-founder of the AXA Cares Food Back: A non-profit organization that seeks to provide food and supplies to disadvantaged Anguillians. She is also the Founder of the Annual Village Ting & Deion Richardson Bicycle Race; and the Annual Kids Christmas Party for Children hosted at the HOPE Centre Ltd.
Richardson-Hodge was the AUF candidate for District 2, East End in the 2010 elections. Running on an Anguilla United Front (AUF) ticket in the 22 April 2015 election, Richardson-Hodge Richardson won the District 2, Sandy Hill with 461 votes (60.98%) vs incumbent Minister Jerome Robert (AUM) with 295 votes (39.02%). In so doing, she (along with Evalie Bradley and Pam Webster) became the first elected women parliamentarian since the election of Abena Lake-Hodge in 1984. Richardson-Hodge was apointed a Minister in the new administration.
Personal life
Richardson-Hodge is a wife and mother of two. She enjoys reading, traveling, participating in sports like basketball, volleyball and swimming. In her spare time, she enjoys bonding with her family and gardening.
