Clephane Roberts is an Antiguan politician.
Early life and education
Clephane Walsham Roberts, popularly known as Mr. Terrific was born in St. George, Antigua and Barbuda on 21 December 1961. Scholastically, Roberts was influenced by institutions including Potter’s Primary School, Clare Hall Secondary and the Princess Margaret School; The Antigua State College, University of the West Indies, Caribbean Union College (now University of Southern Caribbean), Atlantic Union College, Omega Institute and Hospitality Training Institute.
Career
Professionally Roberts has taught in the private and public education system and is presently a Drug and Alcohol Awareness Prevention Educator as a private contractor with Crossroads Centre-Antigua serving in 31 public and private schools across Antigua and in Barbuda. He is the moderator for the popular children's educational television programme, The State Insurance National Spell Bound Championship; co-facilitator of Aunty Pearl’s After School Lessons and hosted two seasons of the reality show Gallery of Student Heroes on behalf of the Bible Society of the Eastern Caribbean filmed in Dominica and Barbados.
For over 15 years, Roberts has been serving as CEO and Founding Director of Success Concepts International since 1997. Through this medium, Roberts encourages and promotes personal and professional development through motivational/inspirational workshops, seminars, camps and possibility thinking sessions nationally, regionally and internationally. He is the author of the audio programme – 7 Steps To A Terrific Life and the book – 90 Days of Spiritual Intimacy: A Devotional Pattern for the Facilitation of Personal and Spiritual Transformation.
Roberts unsuccessfully contested the St. Peter seat in the 2014 general election for the United Progressive Party (UPP).
Personal life
Roberts is married and is the father or four children.
Roberts’ special ability in the area of speech led him to embrace opportunities to become youth preacher preaching his first message at an early age at the Bethany Moravian church. He is a member of the Potter’s Seventh-day Adventist Church where he served as Adventist Youth Leader, Church Elder/Pastoral Assistant, Family Life Director among other positions as well as Church Board Member. Presently he is the Founder and Presiding Elder at the Agape Fellowship of Believers from a religious standpoint.
His love for singing made room for him to serve on the Bethany Moravian Senior and Youth Choir, the Melodians, The St, Georges Youth Choir and the Combined School’s Choir during his teen years.
