Early life and education
Leon Harold Kelsey 'Abhlee' Smith was born, nurtured and socialized in the Freemans Village community. He is a graduate of the All Saints Secondary School and holds a BA degree in Accounting. Throughout his distinguished career, Leon amassed a wealth of knowledge and experience in Audit. Finance. Management. Air traffic Control, FBOs and Customer Relations.
Career
Leon Harold Kelsey 'Abhlee' Smith worked as a career civil servant for 33 unbroken years. He last served as the Aerodrome Superintendent at the VC Bird International Airport until 2008 when he opted for early retirement after which he dedicated his energies full time to his next love - farming.
Smith unsuccessfully contested the All Saints West seat for the Democratic National Alliance (DNA) in the 2018 General Election.
Personal life
Smith is married, and is the father of seven children. He is a devoted member of the Methodist faith who served as President of the Methodist MCCA Men's Commission from 2012 - 2014. His commitment for volunteerism and community service is well known and presently, he serves as 2nd Vice President of the Board of Directors for the School for the Blind. His other interests include fishing, football, and reading.
