Wendell 'Bull Bull' Stewart

Wendell Stewart was a Jamaican politician and former Member of Parliament.

Early life

Wendell Stewart was born in Jamaica in 1954.

Career

Wendell Stewart nicknamed ‘Bull Bull’ won the Trelawny Northern seat on the ticket of the People’s National Party (PNP) in December 1997 and demitted office in October 2002. Stewart returned from the United States to represent the constituency, replacing party stalwart Desmond Leaky.

A founding president of the Conquerors youth club, Stewart sat on the board of the Falmouth Infant School and founded a basic school in New Cargen that is named after him.

Death

Stewart died in his sleep at his home on Sunday, 10 November 2019. He was 65. He had been diagnosed with diabetes some years ago. This eventually led to the amputation of a leg.
