Partido Laboral Krusada Popular (PLKP)

The Partido Laboral Krusada Popular (Labour Party People's Crusade) is a Curaçao and Antillean political party of social democratic signature. The party is mostly known as trade union.

The party was founded on Labor Day, 1 May 1997, by Errol Cova. At the 1998 state elections, the party gained 3 of the 14 Curaçao seats and one year later 4 of the 21 seats in the Curacao Islands Council. In 2002, the party participated in the Antilles government (Cabinet Ys). This ended in May 2005 after Deputy Prime Minister Cova had made critical and politically sensitive statements about the Netherlands during a visit to neighboring Venezuela, and then the other government parties expressed his confidence in him.

At the January 2006 elections, the party achieved only 6% of the votes and disappeared from the States. At the end of 2006, a rift occurred in the party, with two of the three island councilors stepping out of the party and establishing the Movementu Social Laboral (MSL, Social Workers' Movement).

At the island council elections of 20 April 2007, the party gained only 1.6% of the votes and therefore disappears from the Eilands Council on 1 July 2007. Errol Cova decided to take political responsibility for this development by resigning as a party leader.
