Political Parties in Dominica
Dominica has a two-party system, which means that there are two dominant political parties, with extreme difficulty for anybody to achieve electoral success under the banner of any other party. In recent years, the two dominant parties have been the current majority party, the Dominica Labour Party (DLP) and the opposition United Workers Party (UWP). The Dominica Freedom Party (DFP) governed for 15 years, but has not won a seat since the 2000 election.
