General Election Results - 4 November 1980

General elections were held in Turks and Caicos Islands on 4 November 1980.

There were 11 seats in 11 constituencies throughout the islands.

Two parties contested the election – Progressive National Party (PNP) and the People's Democratic Movement (PDM).

A total of 24 Candidates were nominated to contest the 13 seats. These included: 11 from the PNP, 11 from the PDM, and two Independent Candidates

The result was a victory for the PNP winning 8 of 11 seats. The PDM won the remaining three seats. PNP leader Norman Sauders was sworn in as the Third Chief Minister of the turks and Caicos Islands.

Voter turnout was 84.06%.
